Rijschool Haarlemmermeer is BOVAG-affiliated and works exclusively with qualified instructors.
Once you sign up, we’ll schedule a free 60-minute trial lesson. After this lesson, we’ll recommend how many sessions you need and explain the process. Then you can book lessons yourself in the app. We offer 90-minute lessons because they’re far more effective than 50- or 60-minute blocks. You can choose single lessons or a package—packages lock in a lower hourly rate and predict your total cost. If you need fewer lessons than estimated, we refund your unused credit. You can also pay packages in installments.
Prefer pay-as-you-go? That’s fine too—every lesson is invoiced, package or not.
Around two-thirds through your course, you can schedule an interim CBR test—an invaluable preview of the official exam. During this half-hour ride with an examiner, you receive feedback on areas to improve. If you pass the “special manoeuvres,” you earn an exemption for that part of the final exam. (Note: Interim tests are temporarily unavailable as of April 1, 2025.)

You might wonder: how many lessons does it take? Driving lessons are a real investment, so most people want to finish as quickly as possible. Young drivers average about 40 hours before passing, but that’s just a guideline—some need fewer, others more. In 95% of cases, learners underestimate how many lessons they’ll need; 25 lessons is rarely enough! My goal is to make you a safe, independent driver in exactly the right number of lessons—no more, no less.
That’s why we offer 90-minute sessions: to cover everything thoroughly. Below is the approximate number of lessons by learner type, which we’ll refine together during your trial lesson:

Research shows girls often need more lessons than boys (boys tend to be more self-confident), though both groups pass theory at similar rates.
At 16½ you can join the 2toDrive program—take lessons immediately, theory from 16, practical exam at 17. After passing, you must drive under a listed supervisor until age 18 (up to 5 supervisors). You’ll also automatically earn an AM moped license.
Supervisor requirements:
Must hold a Category B license for ≥ 5 years
At least 27 years old
No traffic-offense convictions or mandated alcohol/behavior courses in the past 4 years
No CBR-imposed fitness investigations in the past 4 years
Must not supervise under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication
Must present a valid driving license
